Frequently Asked Questions

Chocolate

1. What size is the fountain?

We have 5 different sizes of fountain from the Mini fountain suitable for small childrens parties and dinner parties right through to our largest 50" fountain with illuminated surround suitable for any number of guests up to 500.

2. How long will it run?

You can have any of our fountains from 1.5 hours to 4 hours in any one sitting so you only pay for the running time you want to have. We can run the fountain for 2 sittings at a special price, or we can run more than one fountain. Please contact us.

3. How long will it take to set up?

We will arrive approximately 1 hour before the running time to set up, and take about 40 mins to dismantle and clear away.

4. I am worried about the chocolate making a mess or spilling??

We pride ourselves on our staff being very well trained to keep the fountain and its appearance, tidy and clean by regularly wiping the surfaces of the surround, and offering all guest paper plates and napkins for their chocolate dips. With the smaller fountains we prefer to serve your guests as this avoids many spills. This we can also do with the larger fountains if requested.

5. What chocolate do you use and what flavours can I have?

We use only the finest Belgian Chocolate as supplied by the makers of our machines and we DO NOT add any oil! We offer Milk, Dark and White Chocolate. Milk being the most popular and that we recommend as most of your guests will prefer Milk chocolate. If you would like another flavour, why not have an additional small fountain for your own indulgence.

6. What happens to the food and chocolate at the end of the running time?

When we have finished, any food left over will be plated up along with a container of the melted chocolate. We will also leave some skewers, napkins and paper plates so that your guests can continue to enjoy the chocolate experience!

Ice Sculptures

1. How long will the ice sculpture last?

The ice sculptures generally last from 2 - 4 hours without losing too much definition, and much longer before they completely disappear. This all depends on the ambient temperature of the room and the size of the sculpture. The larger they are, the longer they last.

2. Where does the melted ice go?

The ice sculpture is delivered and set up completely in an attractive, purpose made ice tray. The tray has a drainage pipe which falls down the back of the table into a drainage bucket (all of which we provide). The bucket just needs to be checked every so often and emptied if need be.

3. When will the ice sculpture be set up?

We will deliver the ice sculpture and place it in position approximately 30-60 mins before the requested time of display. A discount is offered if your venue is prepared to accept the ice sculpture up to 4 days prior to the event, store and position it on the day. Please see our terms and conditions for cost.

4. Where can the ice sculpture be placed?

Wherever the ice sculpture is, it will look fabulous, but there are a number of ideal positions we can suggest: the main entrance area, on a staircase landing, on the buffet table, either side of the top table, by the cake or in the center of the room. A suitable, clothed sturdy table needs to be provided that is able to hold up to 140kg in weight. A trestle table or one with a centre leg is not suitable.

5. What about colours and lighting?

We can colour the ice for you at no extra cost and up-lighting is provided by small LED lights. In addition, Back Lighting, Display Snow and Display Ivy is available, please call us for prices.

6. How much notice is needed to order?

Ideally we would like as much notice as possible, and at least 4 weeks, but do call if your event is any nearer and we will try and help.

7. How do I order and pay?

To order, either fill out the enquiry form and we will call you, or give us a call or email and we will send you a booking form. A Booking Fee/Deposit of 50% of the value of the booking is required at the point of order, then we will invoice you 6 weeks prior to the event and the balance is due 4 weeks prior.

Cocktail Fountains

1. What is meant by 'Dry Hire'?

Dry hire of the Cocktail Fountain means that you supply the drink. Our prices are based on dry hire only. The fountain is supplied with a trained operator to help serve the drink and we decorate the top of the fountain with flowers or fruit.

2. What glasses do we use?

We do not supply any glasses as they tend to get mixed up with the venue's own glasses. Usually the venue is happy to supply extra glasses by arrangement or you can hire them in yourself. Ideally, the glasses should be wine or fluted with a fairly short stem.

3. If I have Champagne, will it go flat?

Any fizzy drink will go flat eventually when exposed to the air. However this is where our management comes in to play. We ensure that only enough drink is added to the fountain to keep serving the guests according to how many there are and how often they take a glassful. We will not keep the fountain completely full if there is a lull or the party is ending. At this point we will start to run it down and so keeping the surplus to a minimum. Usually the drink does not stay in the fountain long enough to lose any fizz as it is so popular!

4. What can I put in the fountain?

We can serve any cold drink from the fountain provided it is not beer or lager or has any fruit bits. If we serve Pimms, then we spoon fresh fruit into the glass. We can also provide a platter of Strawberries, which is a nice touch with Sparkling Wine or Champagne. Please call for details.
